Our current weekly gatherings consist of various Home Churches throughout the
week as well as our Sunday evening service at 6:07 in the sanctuary. The
services and gatherings are led by the emerging generations, but are open to
everyone. (Come just as you are... we welcome you!)
Most gatherings include worship through song, creative arts, film, multimedia,
relevant Bible teaching, ancient/future elements, prayer ministry, the Lord's
Supper, and opportunities to connect and develop authentic relationship with
others.
"Altaer is a place where the lost find Christ, the lonely find family, the hopeless find purpose, and the confused find answers...I personally found home."
-- Deborah Rodriguez
"Altaer is a family - and all are members of the body of Christ. You can
worship, pray, cry, laugh, shout, sing, dance - and there is unconditional
acceptance of each member. And each member is needed to make the body
complete." -- Emily Auer
"Being a part of Alter has meant for me finally getting a chance to
experience life in this world abundantly, with Jesus, as an active member of
His Body… God has used my being the Body with the Alter community to condition
worldly ways out of me and His Ways into me. God has made the Alter Body a
refreshing cup of water which continually renews me." -- David Potter
"As a former cynic, pothead and lunatic I've found much love and comfort
in the Altaer community. I've never truly experienced Christ, his love and his
BODY as I have with this group. It has impacted my life in an indescribable way." -- Richard A. Williams
"I found out that God really digs artists. Being the original Creator
himself, He gets a kick out of letting us see glimpses of His mind at
work. Because of this, to my eye, any artwork I've done for this
community has a pinpoint balance that I've never been able to reproduce
elsewhere." -- Diego Lozano
"The reason Altaer is my worship community is that it delivers an
antidote to the poisonous self-absorbsion I've found everywhere in
L.A., especially in me; that antidote is service, love, and
community." -- Scott Sanders
"I am learning the difference between those occasionally friendly and
lively communities that exist around the watercooler at work, around various
shared experiences in sports, theater productions, and fraternities, around
the hosting table at Altaer, and that other type of community that exists
between his disciples when Christ is at the Center. Being a member of the
local body of believers, here at the Altaer community, is alot of fun. But
it is a fun that doesn't dissipate over time; it grows."
--Jared Essig
